This is a special event for Students and Young Professionals to tour the state-of-the-art Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center! This event is being jointly hosted between the Santa Clara Valley Section and San Francisco Bay Section. CWEA’s San Francisco Bay Section will provide coffee and bagels ahead of the tour. Attendees are required to RSVP in advanced via a Google form.

The Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center (SVAWPC), the largest advanced water purification facility in Northern California, is producing a locally developed, new supply of water –advanced purified water. The purification center receives secondary-treated wastewater from the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. The wastewater has undergone two treatment cycles that remove 99% of solid impurities in the water. At the purification center, the water undergoes three additional advanced treatment processes that purify the water to drinking water quality.
